In late July, leadership at Fullerton Free Church decided that the time had come to begin holding church services again in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The only safe way to do so was holding the services with attendees spread across the top of the church's parking structure. When the decision was made, the tech department (low on staff at the time) asked me back to create an audio system for these outdoor services. The system needed to be modular, expandable (as the services would evolve in the future), and easily set up by volunteers. Our Technical Director handed down the speaker arrangement and the design process began. The easiest way to create a modular system was through a Dante network. With only a few days to get everything up ad running, I pulled equipment from multiple venues on campus to build a structure of networked racks and devices which delivered a near unblemished series of events. The system has since been expanded upon and continues to evolve.
